Clay County, Iowa — The mother who allegedly kidnapped her three daughters in Royal Tuesday morning, prompting the issuance of an AMBER Alert, has been taken into custody in Woodbury County.
Clay County Chief Deputy Zach Larsen says the three girls were located in Sanborn Tuesday night, and appeared to be in good physical condition. He says the children were returned to family members late Tuesday evening.
Deputy Larsen says the girls’ mother, 25-year old Danica Arzaga, had been the subject of a manhunt that ended when she was taken into custody in Woodbury County late Wednesday afternoon. He says Arzaga is currently being held on three counts of Kidnapping in the Third Degree, all Class “C” Felonies.
Larsen says the investigation into the abductions is continuing.
