Wasilla, Alaska — A northwest Iowa native was injured in an airplane crash in Alaska a couple of months ago, and his wife says they’re seeking donations to help with his care and hope to start a related ministry.

According to his wife, Brittney Punt, her husband Matt comes from our area.

Punt tells us Matt graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull and that he owns Punt Brothers Construction in Alaska with his brother Eric. She tells us that, like many people in Alaska, her husband is a hobbyist bush pilot, and that he has several years’ experience.

She tells us what happened that day.

Punt says the plane lost lift and crashed. But miraculously, help was nearby.

Matt Punt is recovering in Seattle. Brittney Punt tells us about his injuries.

She tells us that one of her friends set up a donation site for the family — similar to GoFundMe. You can find it at givesendgo.com/wrap-around-the-punt-family.

Brittney Punt says they’re thinking of starting a ministry in a related vein.

Again, that site is givesendgo.com/wrap-around-the-punt-family.
