(KIWA Staff Photo)Northwest Iowa (KUOO) — Several entities in the region have been awarded funding through the most recent round of grants from the Alliant Energy Foundation.
The Ashton and Ocheyedan Fire Departments were each awarded $1,000. The Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation was awarded $3000 toward scholarships.
In Dickinson County, several organizations will share $10,500, including the Harris-Lake Park Alumni Association, Elderbridge Agency on Aging, the Lakes Area Senior Center, the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation, and the Friends of the Milford Library Foundation.
The foundation is funded solely by Alliant Energy shareowners.
In our area, Alliant Energy serves several communities in Lyon and Osceola counties, including Lester, Little Rock, George, Ashton, Ocheyedan, and Harris. Alliant also has customers in eastern O’Brien County and a very small area of service northwest of Matlock in Sioux County.
