Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.
On their consent agenda are the meeting minutes from the previous meeting, the list of claims, financial reports, a liquor license renewal for the Eagles Club, the mayor’s appointment of Yvette Feekes to the library board, a request to close an alley for First Reformed Church’s bible school program, and a pay application for the Sheldon Upper Story Housing Project. Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.
In new business, the council will consider an updated engagement agreement on a non-TIF general obligation bond for emergency services. This will cover several items for the fire and police departments. They will also discuss the city manager vacancy, as well as wages and other employment conditions for the fiscal year just begun (FY 2027) — which may involve a closed session. They’ll also discuss an updated minimum assessment agreement on a Trilogy lot.
The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers and is available on YouTube.
