Sheldon Senior Receives KIWA Scholarship

Sheldon, Iowa — A member of the Class of 2022 at Sheldon High School has been awarded a scholarship from KIWA Radio.

Alex Van Surksum was presented with the Sheldon Broadcasting Company/KIWA Radio Scholarship during the annual Awards Day ceremony, which was held earlier this week at Sheldon High School.

Van Surksum tells KIWA that he’s been quite busy during his high school years.

In addition, he also competed at All-State Speech in the Radio News Category.

He tells us about what he has planned after graduating from high school.

The Sheldon Broadcasting Company/KIWA Radio $1,500 scholarship is given to one graduating high school senior student each year. Applications are accepted each year from seniors in any high school in O’Brien, Osceola, Lyon or Sioux County.
