Sioux County Fair Board In Fundraising Phase Of Move To Former Airport Property

Sioux Center, Iowa — The Sioux County Youth Fair is in the beginning stages of moving the entire fair to the former Sioux Center Airport property near Carmel.

We had a chance to talk with LeAnn Englin, who is the Vice President of the Sioux County Fair Board, and she tells us their goals for the $26-million project.

She says they’ll need to build a number of buildings on the site. She tells us about that.

She says many equine enthusiasts will be able to have their horses there year-round.

Englin tells us the plans are drawn up, and they are currently in the fundraising phase of the project.

She says they’re hoping the facility generates a large economic impact for the area. According to Englin, they’d like to host the first Sioux County Youth Fair in their new location in July of 2024. She says all the construction won’t yet be done, but they’re hoping enough is in place to have the fair there next year.
