Eighty-Two New Cases Of COVID In Area Reported Sunday

Northwest Iowa — A total of eighty-two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the four-county area of Lyon, Sioux, O’Brien and Osceola on Sunday.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Sioux County led the way with forty-three new cases, followed by O’Brien County with twenty-two, Osceola County with four and Lyon County with thirteen new cases.

These new cases take O’Brien County’s total to 947 cases since the pandemic started. Sioux County now sits at 2896 total cases. Lyon County has had 642 cases, and Osceola County 351.

As far as active cases, Lyon County has 165, Sioux County has 769, O’Brien County has 420, and Osceola has 129.

Out of the 642 Lyon County residents who have had COVID-19, 469 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 73%.
Out of the 2896 Sioux County residents who have had COVID-19, 2107 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 73%.
Out of the 947 O’Brien County residents who have had COVID-19, 509 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 54%.
Out of the 351 Osceola County residents who have had COVID-19, 222 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 63%.

There have been no COVID-related deaths in the four-county are since Friday. The total still stands at twenty deaths in Sioux County, eighteen in O’Brien County and eight in Lyon County since the pandemic began.
