36,000 Bottles Of Drinking Water Loaded And Ready To Head To Sheldon TX

Sheldon, Iowa — The first truckload of relief supplies in the Sheldon IA 4 Sheldon TX relief effort was loaded Thursday morning, with some 40-thousand pounds of bottled drinking water set to make its way to Sheldon TX.

The water was purchased by a group of individuals from Sheldon, and Sheldon Hy-Vee Store Director Josh Osborn says it was great to see people pull together to support the cause.

Sheldon’s two supermarkets, Hy-Vee and Fareway, have come together to help support the Sheldon 4 Sheldon relief effort, as well. Osborn tells us about Hy-Vee’s participation.

Fareway Manager Brent Kraft says his store is participating in the effort in much the same way as Hy-Vee.

Kraft says that, like Hy-Vee, Fareway will take care of getting your items onto the trucks bound for Texas.

Rick Holtrop will depart from Sheldon with the truckload of water Sunday morning, and expects to arrive in Sheldon TX sometime Monday.

Other donations are still being accepted for the Sheldon 4 Sheldon relief effort.  Items may be taken to the trailer parked on the south edge of the Sheldon (IA) Community Services Center Parking Lot until 7:00 pm each day. If you bring boxed items, please be sure to label the boxes.
