Iowa (KUOO) — Iowans can now request absentee ballots for this year’s general election, but the ballots themselves won’t be ready for several more weeks.
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate says county auditors are still preparing ballots, and none will be mailed until October 14th.
Pate says voters will need to show an ID when requesting an absentee ballot.
Iowans who want to vote early in person may do so at their county auditor’s office starting October 14th.
