Statewide Iowa (RI) — Iowans are being reminded about the dangers of hot weather, as high temperatures may reach 95 degrees by this time next week.
Meteorologist Brooke Hagenhoff at the National Weather Service says we have already experienced some steamy afternoons this spring, but the upcoming heat wave is expected to be prolonged.
Hagenhoff says Iowans know how severe cold weather can threaten life and limb, but the extreme heat can be equally as deadly without proper precautions.
The forecast calls for highs mostly in the 80s for the next few days, with 90s likely settling in as soon as Tuesday.
