(KIWA Staff Photo)Orange City, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — A Sioux City man has been sentenced to prison in Sioux County on drug charges and for violating probation.
Sioux County Attorney Thomas Kunstle says 40-year-old Benjamine Allan Pry was sentenced Monday to five years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine — third offense. Pry was also sentenced for driving while his license was denied or revoked and for violating probation from an earlier drug conviction.
The case began in June of 2025, when Pry was charged with operating while under the influence and possession of methamphetamine. He later pleaded guilty and received a suspended five-year prison sentence, probation, substance-abuse treatment requirements, and jail time.
Authorities say Pry never reported to the Sioux County Jail to begin serving his sentence. Arrest warrants were issued in December, followed by a probation violation in early January.
When officers arrested Pry at his Sioux City residence on January 5th, they say he was in possession of methamphetamine again, leading to another felony drug charge.
Pry pleaded guilty to the new charge in March and admitted violating probation. On Monday, a Sioux County judge sentenced him to five years in prison on both felony cases, with the sentences to be served at the same time.
