Sheldon, Iowa – Here in northwest Iowa, we often think we’re immune to domestic abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse, and human trafficking, just because we live in a rural area. But nothing could be further from the truth. And a new non-profit has been formed to help victims becoming aurvivors.
The Surviving Forward Foundation has been formed to help victims find the resources that they need in the aftermath of abuse. Surviving Forward’s Jasmine Mouw tells us more about the organization.
Mouw says Surviving Forward is available via their hotline.
Mouw say Surviving Forward is currently taking part in a three-month initiative to raise funds.
A very special event will be held in Sheldon this Saturday, May 31st. The Surviving Forward Walk will begin at 9:00 am Saturday, beginning at the LLRC on the campus of Northwest Iowa Community College. Mouw tells us more.
Mouw says if you can’t be in Sheldon Saturday morning, just walk wherever you are and let Surviving Forward know how many miles you walked.
