Orab Boys Close Regular Season At Okoboji Friday Night

The Sheldon boys basketball team closed out the regular season at Okoboji Friday night. The Pioneers got the win 63-50.

Okoboji got out to a 15-10 lead on a buzzer beater by Austin Harms and never gave up the lead. At the half they were up 36-22 and built that to a 53-33 advantage after three. The final score had the Pioneers winning 63-50.

Lucas Lorenzen the states leading scorer finished with 34 points. He was joined in double figures by Aidan Dahms with 10. Sheldon had two players in double figures as well with Anthony Provost hitting for 17 while Shane Brouwer netting 12.

With the win Okoboji finishes the regular season at 11-10 with a 9-9 conference mark. Sheldon moves on to the tournaments with a 6-16 record going 4-14 through the Siouxland.

Both teams open tournament play on Monday February 14th with the Orabs at home to West Monona in a first round District 1 Substate 1 matchup tipping off at 7:00. The Pioneers have been assigned to District 4 in Substate 2 where they will open in Cherokee as the early game against East Sac County in a 6:00 pm contest.
