Rock Rapids Native Hired as Director of Operations for ISU Wrestling

Rock Rapids and Ames, Iowa – Iowa State men’s wrestling coach Brent Metcaff has announced the hiring of Hannah Sieperda as the program’s Director of Operations.

Sieperda, a Rock Rapids native, brings four years of experience working in college athletics in an operations/logistics capacity. Most recently, Sieperda worked as an account manager with Anthony Travel at the University of Nebraska where she coordinated travel for football recruiting and bowl games, women’s soccer, women’s gymnastics, women’s tennis, men’s tennis, and swim & dive.

“Hannah brings several years of experience working in college athletics in an operations capacity and brings a team-first mindset that will fit our culture perfectly,” Metcalf said. “She is organized, detail oriented and is a great communicator which will allow her to serve our program and student-athletes at a high level.”

Prior to her time with Anthony Travel, Sieperda spent two seasons as the Director of Operations for Iowa’s newly created women’s wrestling program. She oversaw the team’s budget, expense reports, travel, recruiting logistics and wrestling camps.

Sieperda also has a season of experience as Director of Operations with Iowa’s track & field and cross country programs. Before her time with the Hawkeye track & field program, Sieperda was the Assistant Director at the University of Iowa Trademark Licensing and Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame & Museum. She was also a manager for the men’s wrestling program from 2016-2021.

Sieperda, a 2021 graduate, completed two degrees from the University of Iowa, a Bachelor of Science in sport and recreation management and a Bachelor of Arts in English/non-fiction writing. Sieperda finished her master’s degree in legal studies from Kline School of Law in 2024.
