Pickup Destroyed In Sanborn Area Fire

Sanborn, Iowa– A pickup was destroyed in a fire on Monday, July 2, 2018, near Sanborn.

According to Sanborn Fire Chief Randy Lyman, about 11:10 a.m., the Sanborn Fire Department was called to the report of a truck fire at Highway 18 and Polk Avenue, two miles west of Sanborn.

The chief says the fire department saw the Dodge pickup on fire on the highway as they approached the scene. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.

Lyman says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire is thought to be electrical in nature.

Chief Lyman reports that the truck was totaled.

He says they used about 200 gallons of water to fight the fire, and the six firefighters who responded were on scene for about 45 minutes.
