UPDATE – Name Released: Accident At Perkins Corner Business Claims A Life

UPDATE: Hull, Iowa — A Hull man has died as the result of a business accident at Perkins Corner, two miles west of Hull.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, July 14, at 10:15 a.m., 69-year-old Harvard Punt of Hull was working on a load of cattle gates that were on the flatbed of a pickup at Livestock Equipment & Manufacturing. They tell us Punt climbed on the bed to secure the load when the gates fell from the vehicle, crushing Punt underneath.

According to the report, Punt died as a result of the injuries.

The sheriff’s office says the Sioux Center Police Department, Hull Fire Department, and the Sioux County Medical Examiner assisted them with the response to the accident.

Perkins, Iowa — An accident on Friday morning, July 14th, 2023 has claimed a life.

Details are few at this time, but according to Sioux County Sheriff Jamie Van Voorst, emergency crews were called out to Perkins Corner, two miles west of Hull near the intersection of Highways 18 and 75 for an accident at about 10:15 Friday morning.

The sheriff says it was an accident at a business place, and that one person died. He says at this time they are waiting to make sure all family has been contacted before releasing any more information.
