Primghar, Iowa — A Sutherland man who led officers from O’Brien and Osceola Counties on a high-speed chase one Sunday morning this past December has entered into a plea agreement involving several O’Brien County criminal cases.
According to online court records, Bradley Kots had been arrested driving a stolen car after a high speed chase that began in Osceola County and ended on the north side of Germantown. At that time, Kots was charged with two felony charges along with misdemeanor possession of meth.
In addition, Kots has been accused of stealing several vehicles in multiple northwest Iowa counties.
Wednesday, in O’Brien County District Court, a plea agreement was accepted by Judge Charles Borth, in connection with several felony and misdemeanor charges in O’Brien County. According to online court records, Kots had been charged with seven felony counts, along with four misdemeanor charges. According to the plea deal, Kots pled guilty to one reduced charge, 3rd Degree theft which is an aggravated misdemeanor. That charge was reduced by the plea bargain from 2nd Degree Theft, which is a class D felony. In addition, the six other felony charges, as well as the misdemeanor charges were all dismissed. Online court records say that Kots was sentenced to 364 days in jail, with 154 of those suspended, and will get credit for time served. He was also ordered to serve two-years’ probation.
