Ritter, Iowa — An Ashton man’s vehicle hit a building in Ritter on Saturday, September 19th.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:48 am, 22-year-old Jake Vander Pol was driving a 2003 Mazda Sedan southbound on Nest Avenue. According to the report, Vander Pol failed to stop at a posted stop sign and ran off the roadway straight forward. The report continues that he collided with a building owned by Farmers Coop Society causing the airbag to deploy. The Sheriff’s Office says fog was a factor at the time of the accident.
The Mazda received $3000 damage; the storage building received $500 damage.
No injuries were reported.
