Hartley, Iowa — A powerwasher and its trailer were destroyed in a fire on Thursday, March 23, 2023, near Hartley.
According to Hartley Fire Chief Brad Meendering, at about 11:00 a.m., the Hartley Fire Department was called to the report of a powerwasher trailer on fire at 3029 White Avenue, a mile east and almost two miles north of Hartley.
The chief says someone had been using the powerwasher to wash a hog building, when what was believed to be a malfunction occurred in the powerwasher, which started on fire, and that lit the trailer on fire.
Meendering says no injuries were reported to people, pets, or livestock.
Chief Meendering reports that the trailer and powerwasher were totaled in the blaze.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about 20 minutes.
