Sioux Center, Iowa — A Michigan teen was injured in a mishap with her motorcycle Saturday in Sioux Center.
According to the Sioux Center Police Department the accident happened shortly before 5:00 Saturday afternoon when a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by 19-year-old Addison Marie Hansen of Jenison Michigan, entered the roadway from the Dordt campus and accelerated quickly causing the bike’s rear tire to slide out. The tire slide caused Hansen to lose control of the motorcycle, which went over onto its right side, ejecting Hansen from the bike.
Authorities say Hansen was transported to Sioux Center Health by Sioux Center Ambulance with what police describe as serious injuries.
Damage to Hansen’s motorcycle was estimated at $2,000.
