Carnes, Iowa — A Nebraska woman was taken to a hospital after a car-deer crash near Carnes on Monday.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that a few minutes before noon, 73-year-old Daniel Cloeter of Lincoln, Nebraska, was driving a 2026 Nissan Sentra south on Highway 60 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by Cloeter.
A passenger, 73-year-old Marjorie Cloeter, also of Lincoln, Nebraska, was transported by the Orange City Ambulance to the Orange City hospital.
The vehicle received approximately $4,000 damage.
The Sheriff’s Office tells us the Orange City Fire Department and Ambulance team, and the Alton Fire Department assisted with the response to the crash.
