Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City man has been arrested on a burglary charge after an incident in Orange City.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Orange City Police Department, 23-year-old Donovan Burrell of Orange City is accused of breaking into an Orange City home in February. He was arrested on a warrant this week.
The officer’s complaint states that Burrell allegedly forced his way into an apartment on Iowa Avenue Southwest in Orange City and allegedly assaulted someone inside the home.
Burrell was charged with First Degree Burglary, a class B felony; and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. If convicted, Burrell could face up to 25 years in prison.
No court dates have yet been set in the case.
Burrell was released the same day he was arrested after posting a $12,000 cash or surety bond.
