Orange City, Iowa – A 67-year-old Orange City man was taken to jail Memorial Day evening following a harassment complaint.
According to a social media post by the Orange City Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of the 300 block of Delaware Avenue Southwest around 8:30 Monday evening. Police say that upon their arrival, Orange City officers spoke with the reporting party, who identified 67-year-old Dale Steven Harvey of Orange City as the suspect in the investigation.
During the investigation, authorities say Harvey became disruptive, caused a disturbance, and made multiple threats in the presence of officers.
When officers attempted to place Harvey under arrest, police say he attempted to enter his residence. Authorities prevented him from entering the residence and, during the arrest, allegedly located a handgun on his person.
According to authorities, Harvey was charged with Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment in the 1st Degree, and Possession or Carrying dangerous weapons while under the influence. He was reportedly transported to the Sioux County Jail.
