Statewide Iowa (SCR) – Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig is endorsing Randy Feenstra in Iowa’s 2026 race for governor.
In an announcement released last week, Naig praised Feenstra’s support for Iowa agriculture, farm families, and rural communities during his time in the Iowa Legislature and Congress.
“I’m proud to endorse Randy Feenstra for Governor because he has consistently delivered for Iowa agriculture, farm families, and rural communities,” Naig says.
Naig pointed to Feenstra’s work on issues including crop insurance, the federal Farm Bill, and year-round E15 sales, while also highlighting support for lower taxes, expanded export markets, and policies aimed at strengthening Iowa’s rural economy.
Naig Highlights Ag Priorities
Naig says Feenstra understands the importance of market development, a competitive business climate, and policies that support long-term growth for Iowa agriculture.
“As a State Senator and member of Congress, he has fought for priorities that matter to agriculture — from strengthening crop insurance and advancing the Farm Bill to leading the charge on year-round E15, which expands markets for farmers and lowers fuel costs for families,” Naig says.
Feenstra Responds to Endorsement
Feenstra says he is honored to receive Naig’s endorsement and praised the secretary’s work supporting Iowa agriculture and rural communities.
“I’m honored to be endorsed by Secretary Naig, and appreciate all that he does to support Iowa farmers and invest in our rural communities,” Feenstra says.
Feenstra says, if elected governor, he would focus on lowering input costs for farmers, expanding export markets, and helping family farms transition to the next generation.
He also says he wants Iowa to remain one of the most agriculture- and business-friendly states in the country while continuing to work alongside President Donald Trump and state agriculture leaders on rural and farm policy priorities.
Feenstra is one of five GOP candidates in the primary, which takes place a week from today (June 2).
