Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City woman was taken to the hospital as the result of a 2-vehicle collision shortly before 8:00 Friday evening.
According to Orange City Police, a 2015 Ford Fusion, driven by 19-year-old Dongseok Chung of Orange City was westbound on 7th Street, approaching the intersection with Florida Avenue Southwest. Deputies say Chung Failed to obey the yield sign at the intersection and struck the passenger side of a 2013 GMC Terrain SUV, driven by 62-year old Barbara Ramsey of Orange City.
Police say the impact of the crash caused Ramsey’s SUV to roll over, coming to rest on its passenger side.
According to Orange City Police, Ramsey was transported to the Orange City Area Health System Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Chung was reportedly charged with Failure to Obey a Yield Sign, and Failure to Yield.
Officers estimate damage to Chung’s Fusion at $4500, with damage to Ramsey’s SUV estimated to be about $8000.
