Paullina, Iowa — Paullina firefighters were called out for the report of a fire that could have been a lot worse on Saturday, March 30, 2019, near Paullina.
According to Paullina Fire Chief Brent Noteboom, about 10:05 a.m., the Paullina Fire Department was called to the report of a tractor on fire in a shed at 4448 Redwing Avenue, about a mile and a half north of Paullina on L48.
The chief says the fire was out by the time firefighters arrived. He says they used their thermal imaging camera to make sure there were no hot spots on the tractor which might indicate the possibility of ignition.
He says the cause of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.
Chief Noteboom reports that the damage was limited to wiring on the tractor.
He says the approximately 10 firefighters who responded were on scene for only a few minutes.
