Paullina, Iowa — A Paullina man is dead in the aftermath of a single-vehicle accident northeast of Paullina early Wednesday evening.
According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened about 6:40 Wednesday evening. Deputies say a 2017 Dodge Journey, driven by 30-year-old Storm Dalton Perry, was northbound in the 4500 mile of Silver Avenue when he lost control and entered the east ditch before striking the embankment of 450th Street causing the vehicle to go airborne. Deputies say once the vehicle landed, it rolled before coming to rest on its top in the yard at 4490 Silver Avenue.
Authorities say Perry was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
O’Brien County deputies were assisted by the Paullina Police Department, Paullina Fire Department, Paullina Ambulance and the Iowa State Patrol.
