Rock Valley Man Faces Three Felony Narcotics-Related Charges

Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man was arrested following a drug raid in Rock Valley early Thursday evening.

Rock Valley Police Chief Monte Warburton says a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue in Rock Valley. Court records indicate that the search allegedly turned up a large quantity of marijuana, along with a digital scale, plastic baggies and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the search, Rock Valley Police arrested Jose Alfredo Herrera-Arellano on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver, and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, both of which are Class D Felonies.

Officers transported Herrera-Arellano to the Sioux County Jail. Court records indicate that during the booking process a wax-like substance was reportedly found on his driver’s license. Court records say the substance was tested, and allegedly tested positive for THC/Marijuana, leading to a third charge, Possession of Contraband in a Correctional Facility, another Class D Felony.

Sioux County Jail records indicate that, as of mid-afternoon Friday, Herrera-Arellano was still being held in the Sioux County Jail on the charges.
