Sioux Center, Iowa — A Rock Valley resident was taken to a hospital after a crash near Sioux Center on Tuesday, November 13th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 8:45 a.m., 45-year-old Michael Schwebach of Sioux Center was driving a 2007 International semi‐tractor pulling a grain trailer westbound on 390th Street, two miles west of Sioux Center. They report that 20-year-old Jesse Sears of Rock Valley was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on Garfield Avenue.
According to the report, Sears entered the intersection and struck Schwebach.
The Sioux Center Ambulance took Sears to the Sioux Center Health Hospital.
The International semi sustained approximately $8,000 in damage. The Chevrolet sustained approximately $10,000 in damage.
Sears was cited on a charge of failure to obey a stop sign.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident.
