Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman has been arrested on burglary, trespassing, and child endangerment charges after an incident in Rock Valley.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Rock Valley Police Department, 28-year-old Maria Escobedo Flores of Rock Valley is accused of entering a home and assaulting a victim. She was arrested on Thursday.
In his statement, the officer states that Escobedo Flores went to the address on Thursday morning. He says she had been giving a warning for trespassing at that address the day before. The officer writes that without authority to do so, she entered the apartment and assaulted a 30-year-old woman while a 3-year-old child was present. He says the assault caused injuries.
Escobedo Flores was charged with first degree burglary, a class B felony. If convicted, she could face up to 25 years in prison. She also faces misdemeanor trespassing and child endangerment charges.
Escobedo Flores was released the same day she was booked into jail after posting a $25,000 unsecured bond.
