Sanborn Man Charged With Felony Forgery & Theft

Sanborn, Iowa — A Sanborn man has been arrested on a warrant charging him with 2nd Degree Theft, and Forgery, both of which are Class D Felonies.

Court records indicate that 33-year-old Sione Toki is accused of taking three checks from another person without that permission, sometime between December 20th and December 27th of last year.

Court records indicate that the amount taken by use of the three checks totaled $2909 which was taken from the victim’s checking account.

Following an investigation by the Sanborn Police Department, a warrant was issued for Toki’s arrest, and Sanborn officers took him into custody on the Theft and Forgery charges, as well as a charge for Possession of Marijuana, according to the online O’Brien County Sheriff’s Arrest Log.

If convicted, Toki could receive up to five years in prison on the felony charges.
