Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man has been arrested on a felony drug charge after a traffic stop in Sheldon.
The Sheldon Police Department filed a criminal complaint charging 19-year-old local resident Edgar Feucht with marijuana or THC possession, according to O’Brien County court records.
In his statement, the officer says Feucht was a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped for driving erratically, an equipment violation, and an improper turn on Sunday, July 26th. He says that when the vehicle stopped, Feucht got out from the passenger side of the vehicle and ran away on foot. The officer says an odor of marijuana could be detected coming from the vehicle, and officers allegedly found 28 grams of a leafy green substance that field tested positive for THC. He says Feucht later turned himself in later in the day.
Feucht was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver or manufacture, a class D felony. If convicted, Feucht could face up to five years in prison.
An initial appearance has been scheduled for August 11th.
Feucht was booked into the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar and was released the next day after posting bond.
