Sheldon Man Faces Felony Drug Charge

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man has been arrested on a felony drug charge.

A criminal complaint filed by the Sheldon Police Department with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court alleges that 40-year-old Kory Long of Sheldon was in possession of THC wax. He was arrested on Saturday.

In his statement, the officer says Long emptied his pockets and pulled out a silicone container with a brown wax material inside, which tested positive for THC. The officer says Long admitted the container was his.

Long was charged with possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, a class D felony. If convicted, Long could face up to five years in prison.

He faces a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, July 29th.

At last report, Long remained in the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar in lieu of bond.
