Lake Park, Iowa — A Spencer woman has died as the result of an accident near Lake Park.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 3:04 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2015, 80-year-old Beverly Steuben of Spencer was driving a 1999 Buick southbound on M27, and had stopped for the stop sign at Highway 9. Twenty-three year-old Kayla Foushee of Ocheyedan was westbound on Highway 9 in a 2000 Chevy.
The report says that Steuben pulled out from the stop sign into the path of the Foushee Chevy. The Chevy struck the Buick on the driver’s side.
Steuben received fatal injuries and died at the scene.
A friend took Foushee to Lakes Regional Hospital.
The patrol says the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and Lakes Regional Hospital Ambulance assisted at the scene.
