Paullina, Iowa — A Sutherland man has been arrested on a felony OWI charge.
According to Paullina Police Chief Nathan Bremer, they arrested 64-year-old Daniel Ray Horstmann of Sutherland on Thursday, October 11th. He says that about 4:10 p.m., he stopped the vehicle that Horstmann was driving after ascertaining that the registered owner’s driver’s license had been revoked. Horstman was identified as the owner and driver.
Bremer says he believes that Horstmann had been drinking. After an investigation, Bremer charged Horstmann with third-offense operating while intoxicated, which is a felony; and a misdemeanor charge of driving while revoked.
He says Horstmann was taken to jail, where he was released the next day after seeing the magistrate.
