Two Injured In Friday Morning Crash

AccidentGeneric 2Sioux Center, Iowa — Two people suffered minor injuries Friday morning when their car collided with a semi north of Sioux Center on Highway 75.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened about 9 am Friday, when a 2007 Peterbilt, driven by 27-year old Tyler Eisma of Maurice was eastbound on B-30, and slowed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 75.  Troopers say another eastbound vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 28-year old Alyssa LePaige of Le Mars attempted a panic stop to avoid striking Eisma’s Peterbilt, but ended up striking the rear of the truck.

LePaige, along with a passenger in her vehicle, 29-year old Tristan Schulz of Rock Valley, were transported to the Sioux Center Hospital with what were described as minor injuries.

Damage to the LePaige Chevrolet was estimated at approximately $4-thousand, while damage to Eisma’s Peterbilt was estimated at $500.

Troopers say LePaige was ticketed for Failure To Maintain Control.  In addition, Troopers say it was later learned that LePaige is barred from driving, so they say a warrant will be issued for her arrest on the charge of Driving While Barred.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Sioux Center Fire and EMS, Sioux Center Police Department, and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
