Two Injured In Orange City Crash

Orange City, Iowa — A pair of Orange City women were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Orange City Monday morning.

According to the Orange City Police Department, the mishap occurred around 8:10 Monday morning at thee intersection of 3rd Street Northwest and Delaware Avenue Northwest in Orange City.

Officers say a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse SUV, driven by 24-year old Taylor Barthman of Orange City was southbound on Delaware Avenue Northwest, and was entering the intersection with 3rd Street Northwest when her SUV was struck in the left side by a 2008 Honda CRV, driven by 52-year old Janelle Volers of Orange City, which was  westbound on 3rd Street Northwest. 

According to the crash report, Volers was taken to the Orange City Area Health System Hospital by Orange City Ambulance. Barthman was reportedly taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.

Officers estimate damage to each vehicle at about $10-thousand.

According to authorities, Volers was cited for Failure To Yield Right-of-Way to a Vehicle on the Right.
