Rock Rapids Woman Faces Felony Charge After Arrest On Warrant

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids woman spent some time in jail and could face up to five years in prison if convicted of the felony offense of which she is accused.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, a Lyon County Deputy arrested 30-year-old Brittany Freeman of Rock Rapids on Thursday on an active warrant for Forgery, which is a class D Felony. Freeman was transported to the Lyon County Jail for booking.

Court records indicate that Freeman is accused of writing a check for $80 on a closed account on Christmas Day 2019 at Todd’s Station in Rock Rapids. Records indicate Freeman can allegedly be seen on video surveillance arriving at Todd’s Station in a stolen vehicle from Yankton, SD.

The deputy believes that Freeman wrote a check from a book of checks stolen during a burglary in Yankton in July 2019.
