Chance Of Storms Tonight

Northwest Iowa — Storm chances return this afternoon and evening. Some storms could be strong to severe for portions of the area, with hail to tennis ball sized and wind gusts to 70 mph possible. Although unlikely, a tornado cannot be ruled out. Stay weather aware, and have multiple ways to receive warnings!

The heat is on again today, with the warmest locations south of I-90. Otherwise, thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening. The greatest threats are hail to tennis ball sized, and wind gusts to 70 mph. Although unlikely, a tornado cannot be ruled out. Some storms could become strong to severe, mainly across southwestern MN, northwestern IA and into northeastern NE. Temperatures cool a bit into the weekend, with additional scattered storms possible. Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible. A more robust cool down is expected early next week.
