(KIWA Staff Photo)Lester, Iowa — The summertime festivals continue in Northwest Iowa. This weekend, it’s Lester’s turn. Lester Days start this Friday night with a rescue squad meal. They’ll have inflatables, firetruck rides, popcorn, and root beer floats, and a glow run starting at dusk. Also afterwards, there’ll be a fireworks show at the ball diamond.
The big day in Lester is Saturday. They’ll have a rib-smoking competition, community breakfast at the community center, a parade, lunch at the community center, face painting, and inflatables, snow cones, a pickleball tournament, pedal pull, and cow pie bingo, a poker run, youth beanbag tournament, adult beanbag tournament, pizza food truck in the park, and karaoke.
And it all wraps up on Sunday at 9:30 with a community church service in the park, with a food truck to follow afterwards. All that for Lester Days is going on this weekend in Lester.
