Sheldon, Iowa — Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) in Sheldon has the opportunity to kick off a new scholarship by raffling off a new professional tool storage solution.

NCC officials tell us that community members can win the Snap-on tool storage package while helping support student scholarships at Northwest Iowa Community College.

Kristi Landis, Director of College Advancement with NCC, tells us the NCC Foundation is hosting the raffle.

She tells us how to enter the raffle.

That link again is nwicc.edu/snapon. (There’s also a picture of the toolbox available by clicking the link) She says all proceeds support scholarships for students enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs at NCC.

She says your ticket doesn’t just upgrade a garage—it helps fund scholarships for Career and Technical Education students at NCC.

Landis says nine finalists will be selected through weekly raffle drawings, with one finalist announced each Wednesday at 8:50 a.m. on KIWA Radio leading up to Taste of Sheldon on August 26, 2026. Community members are encouraged to tune in each week to see if their name has been drawn. Each finalist will receive a key and have the opportunity to unlock the toolbox during the event. Only one key will open the toolbox and reveal the grand prize winner.

Taste of Sheldon is an annual Northwest Iowa Community College event that helps welcome students to both the campus and the community. Area businesses, organizations, churches, community groups, and NCC student clubs and organizations set up booths in the Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center (LLRC), giving students the opportunity to learn about local resources, activities, and ways to get involved both on campus and within the community. The event helps students build relationships, discover their interests, and feel connected to both NCC and the Sheldon community.

Finalists do not need to be present to win. If a finalist is unable to attend Taste of Sheldon, an NCC scholarship recipient will turn the key on their behalf. The winner is responsible for picking up and transporting the toolbox.

Tickets can be purchased online until 9:00 a.m. the morning of the drawing on August 26, 2026. Community members who wish to purchase tickets with cash may contact the NCC Foundation Office at (712) 324-5061 and ask for Kristi or Morgan.

Again, the prize package includes:
· 40″ Six-Drawer Roll Cart
· 4-Piece Pliers/Cutters Set
· 8-Piece Ratcheting Soft Grip Screwdriver Set
· 6-Piece Combination Instinct® Soft Grip Screwdriver Set
