Orange City, Iowa — One of three people accused in a burglary case in Hull has taken a plea bargain and has changed his plea to guilty.
Court records indicate 34-year-old Jakob Gamboa was originally charged with first-degree theft, a class C felony; as well as class D felony counts of second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary.
The charges stem from a burglary investigation that began in late February. Authorities say stolen items were recovered during the execution of a search warrant at a home in Hull.
Court records indicate that items were recovered from multiple residences connected to both Gamboa and Jesse Van Leeuwen. The stolen property is believed to have come from a Hull business and was valued at more than $10,000.
Gamboa agreed to plead guilty to only the third-degree burglary charge. He was sentenced to a five-year prison term.
