Inwood, Iowa (Sioux County Radio)– An Inwood man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following an early morning incident Saturday in Inwood.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of an assault with a weapon at about 1:00 a.m. at 313 South Main Street — The Belly Up Bar and Grill in Inwood.
Authorities say the investigation led to the arrest of 34-year-old Dane Charles Long of Inwood.
Long is charged with attempted murder, going armed with intent, willful injury, aggravated assault while displaying a weapon, first-degree harassment, person ineligible to carry a dangerous weapon, and use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime.
Authorities say Long remains in custody at the Lyon County Jail.
The sheriff’s office says the incident remains under investigation. Any defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says deputies also responded to a separate, unrelated incident in Inwood later that morning involving a fatal gunshot wound. That investigation remains ongoing with the assistance of the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department, Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Lyon County Conservation officers, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Inwood Fire and Rescue, Canton-Inwood Ambulance, and Sanford AirMed.
