UPDATE: Man Killed By Hit & Run Driver Near Sibley

Sibley, Iowa — Osceola County authorities have now released the identity of the man they say was killed by a hit and run driver near Sibley last Thursday (March 18th).

Osceola County Sheriff Kevin Wollmuth identified the man as 19-year-old Tyler James Wills, of Sioux Falls.

Authorities received a 911 call Thursday night about a body laying in the roadway on 170th Street, about two miles west of Sibley. Wollmuth says their investigation determined that Wills’ death was caused by being hit by an unknown hit and run driver.

Sheriff Wollmuth tells KIWA that the investigation into the incident is ongoing by the Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol. He says more information will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

Sibley, Iowa — Osceola County authorities are looking for a hit & run driver that struck and killed an unidentified man Thursday night near Sibley.

Details are still sketchy, but Osceola County authorities say they received a 911 call around 9:00 Thursday night of a body laying on the roadway on 170th Street, approximately 2 miles west of Sibley. Authorities say they determined that the man’s death was caused by a hit and run collision.

Authorities say the incident remains under investigation by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Iowa State Patrol.

According to authorities, the Sibley Ambulance, Ocheyedan Ambulance, Sibley Fire and Rescue and Osceola County Roads Department assisted law enforcement.
