Seasons Center To Hold Free Child Abuse Prevention Month Carnival In Sioux Center Thursday

Northwest Iowa — April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Sarah Heinrichs-Wurm of Season’s Center for Behavioral Health tells us about it.

She says it may feel like it, but we’re not immune to child abuse in rural northwest Iowa.

Seasons Center for Behavioral Health is hosting a free family carnival in Sioux Center this Thursday as part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The event runs from 4:30 to 6:30 at Kinsey Elementary and will include inflatables, games, face painting, and prizes.

Stephanie Pohar with Seasons Center says the goal is to create a fun, welcoming space while also raising awareness about mental health and prevention.

Pohar says that this is the third year that they’ve had a carnival in Sioux Center. She says connecting families with help early can make a difference.

And Pohar says everyone is invited to attend.

The event is free and once again will take place this Thursday night 4:30 to 6:30 at Kinsey Elementary in Sioux Center.
