Northwest Iowa — Seasons Center for Behavioral Health is offering a free virtual training designed specifically for biological parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, kinship caregivers, and fictive kin caregivers.

They tell us the 90-minute training will explore the realities of caregiver stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, and isolation while providing practical strategies to build resilience and create sustainable self- care habits. Participants will leave with a personalized plan to support their own well-being, recognizing that caring for themselves is an essential part of caring for children.

Seasons Center officials tell us that participants will learn practical tools to manage stress, strengthen supportive relationships, practice self-compassion, and reduce the risk of burnout and compassion fatigue. Whether caring for children as a biological parent or stepping into a caregiving role through foster care, kinship care, or fictive kin relationships, participants will gain practical strategies they can begin using immediately.

The training will be on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. The virtual training will be held via Zoom. There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is required at https://bit.ly/4bdSmwt. For more information, you can visit www.seasonscenter.org/events or call 800-242-5101.
