Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.
On their consent agenda are the meeting minutes from the previous meeting, the list of claims, financial reports, setting the date and time for a public hearing on the rezoning of two properties on Prairie Trail Road, approval of one fire and one SCAT applicant, setting the dates and times for public hearings on rezoning of a newly-created lot in the Trijinks addition and an easement in that addition, the approval of a resolution designating posting of agendas, and the mayor’s appointment to the library board. Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.
The city council plans to hold a discussion on the city manager vacancy. They may hire a management consultant firm. A proposal will be before them.
In new business, the council will consider approving and authorizing a form of loan agreement, authorizing and providing for the issuance, and levying a tax to pay the notes, and approving a related tax exemption certificate. The loan is for $485,000 for equipping the fire and police departments.
The will also hold a discussion on fiscal year 2027 TIF expenditures.
