Little Rock, Iowa — The Little Rock Fire Department was called out on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
According to Little Rock Fire Chief Austin Kannegieter, at about 3:20 p.m., the Little Rock Fire Department was paged to the report of several grass fires north and east of Little Rock, on 140th Street, north of Little Rock, and east past Nettle Avenue in Osceola County. That would be along a four-mile stretch.
When they got there, the chief says the fire department saw at least 12 grass fires, some on one side of the road and some on both sides.
Kannegieter says no injuries were reported and nothing of value was burned in the fires — only grass.
He says they believe a truck hauling concrete accidentally had some ash and embers in the load, which fell out along the route.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for just over an hour.
