Orange City, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — Orange City Area Health System has announced the appointment of Chris Sietstra as its next chief executive officer, effective July 6th.

Sietstra will succeed longtime CEO Marty Guthmiller, who plans to retire later this summer after 32 years leading the organization. During Guthmiller’s tenure, OCAHS expanded services and facilities while growing access to care across northwest Iowa.

Sietstra has served as OCAHS Director of Finance since 2024. Hospital officials say he has played an important role in strategic planning, financial oversight, and organizational growth during his time with the health system.

A graduate of Northwestern College, Sietstra is also a certified public accountant with experience managing accounting teams and overseeing complex financial operations.

Guthmiller praised the selection, saying he is confident Sietstra will lead with integrity and uphold the system’s culture and values. He noted that Sietstra will also have strong support from the senior leadership team.

Sietstra said he is honored to take on the role and looks forward to continue building on the organization’s mission. He said that during his time at OCAHS, he has seen the dedication of staff, providers, volunteers, and leadership, as well as the trust communities place in the health system.

Hospital officials say Sietstra will work closely with Guthmiller and senior leaders in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition.

OCAHS also announced that the search for the organization’s next director of finance will begin immediately.
