Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council met in regular session on Wednesday afternoon.
Council members approved the consent agenda, and in so doing, accepted the meeting minutes from the previous meeting, the list of claims, financial reports, a liquor license renewal for the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center, approval of two SCAT applicants, and a resolution and agreement of sewer reconnection.
In new business, the council approved an engineering contract on a 19th Avenue reconstruction proposal and an engineering contract on Highway 18 frontage roads.
They continued their ongoing discussion about the city manager position, including discussing the city manager profile. They suggested a few changes to the profile, and then approved. Applications are due on September 19th, with finalist interviews on October 9th and 10th.
Discussions continue on e-bikes and e-scooters and what should be done, whether it’s new ordinances, education, a combination, or something else.
